XENOPORE Corp. has established a new consulting and product development service. This service is directed by Dr. Allan Douglas, the founder and technical director of XENOPORE. Dr. Douglas has more than thirty years of experience in chemical process development, surface chemistry, polymer chemistry, membrane technology, separations science and waste chemical reclamation and disposal. This product development and consulting service is now available to companies that need short term or part time assistance to solve a particular problem. The resources of the XENOPORE development laboratory are available when needed. In addition, this service will be of interest to venture capital firms and executives faced with the need to evaluate the potential of new technology, investment bankers involved in due diligence for a possible public offering of stock, and companies and law firms concerned with patent infringement. His expertise includes development of laboratory processes and scale-up to production, paying particular attention to purification. His work in membrane development has found application in many industries, including water desalination, waste water renovation and protein reclamation from whey. He has been involved in the use of molecular templating since his doctoral dissertation in 1966, and is now studying the potential of this concept for high specificity purification and diagnostics. For the past 15 years his work has been particularly focused on the diagnostics and
biotechnology industries. There, his expertise in polymer chemistry and surface
chemistry has lead to the surface modified microwell plates now sold by XENOPORE.
More recently, he has developed a new technique for silanating and silylating glass
surfaces. Please go to the next page to review the CV of Dr. Douglas. The list of his publications is also on this web site. Please contact Dr. Douglas by e-mail at: adouglas@alum.mit.edu or by telephone at 1-800-356-6296 to discuss how you can benefit from this service. |
